I walked into BAB's lecture today, breathing with exertion and feeling a little unsatisfied. I could barely maintain a sprint beyond a hundred metres today - calves need strengthening.

BAB was mumbling something as usual. 'Any pizza preferences?'

Though these are the words he said, as the whole class would attest, they weren't the words I heard. My mind worked quickly, because I do not pass up an opportunity like this, to steer a class where I want it to go. What did I prefer?

The first idea I had: 'CFT and the Fractional Quantum Hall effect!'

Shortly after, I had to apologize. 'Sorry, I heard teaching preferences.'

I've been wanting to see the Artist for a long time now. I waited on it, for a hope now gone. It rained ice tonight, a small sprinkle that melted easily on the warmth of my jacket. I met YL on the way to the theatre, and they've never heard of the movie. Y thought it strange it that I was going alone; I know why that affected me.

There is not much to hear in this movie - it's silent, mostly. George Valentini and Pepper Millner. Their faces, what wonderful charismatic faces, tell the story.

The climax was masterfully constructed. BANG! I didn't realize I was being played, and I didn't mind!
