I walked into BAB's lecture today, breathing with exertion and feeling a little unsatisfied. I could barely maintain a sprint beyond a hundred metres today - calves need strengthening.

BAB was mumbling something as usual. 'Any pizza preferences?'

Though these are the words he said, as the whole class would attest, they weren't the words I heard. My mind worked quickly, because I do not pass up an opportunity like this, to steer a class where I want it to go. What did I prefer?

The first idea I had: 'CFT and the Fractional Quantum Hall effect!'

Shortly after, I had to apologize. 'Sorry, I heard teaching preferences.'
